Teen & Adult Workshop: 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM (1.5 hours)
 
All levels welcome.
Limited drums available – please reserve in advance by emailing drumming@heidialina.life. Otherwise, please bring a djembe drum to play.

CMCW (Community Music for Connection & Wellbeing) presents guest artist Dethie “Pape” Sarr Diouf from Bargny, Senegal for a special morning of West African drumming at the Manitou Art Center.

Born into a family of musicians, Pape Diouf is a Géwël — a traditional cultural keeper responsible for preserving rhythms and family histories in his region. Now based in Los Angeles, he is an in-demand teacher, performer, and accompanist for dance classes at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. He has also toured internationally sharing and teaching the rhythms and traditions of Senegal.

Join us for this fun and uplifting community experience of rhythm, connection, and cultural learning through drumming.

These workshops are part of the CMCW (Community Music for Connection & Wellbeing) series and will be offered monthly at the MAC through September 2026. Keep an eye out for upcoming dates!
