- **Event Description**: Forman Fire will be hosting a Lost Person Behavior Certification Class Saturday July 25th  at Station 1 in Manito.  Breakfast and lunch are provided.   This will be a one-day class.  I intend to follow this up with the IFSI Search and Rescue 8hour class in October. About this class:

The Lost Person Behavior Class, based on the book by the same name, is invaluable training for everyone involved in missing person search and rescue. If you are involved with planning searches, this class is a must-have for you...it teaches you exactly what to do in the first three hours and shows you how to get searchers out into the field quickly. If you are a searcher the class teaches you how to search for your subject based on typical behaviors. The class teaches you how to use the data in the book and apply it to maps to send your teams to the right areas. The goal of the class is to teach you to look in the right place sooner!

This class is presented by Ralph and Ellen Kuchenbrod. They have both been members of Champaign County (IL) Search and Rescue since its inception in 2012 and they became Lost Person Behavior instructors in 2014. 

Ralph is a graduate of the Alabama Fire College Wilderness Search and Rescue Technician program and is a NASAR SARTECH II. He is an EMT with the Tolono Fire Protection District and added the Wilderness EMT designation through the National Outdoor Leadership School. Ralph is the Program Manager for the IFSI Wilderness Search and Rescue Program.

Ellen was the primary creator of and is the lead instructor for Wilderness Search and Rescue classes being offered by the Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI). She is qualified at the Wilderness Search and Rescue Operations/Technician level
