A Valentine’s Day Live Sketching & Museum Study
A live sketching and museum learning experience celebrating the love of culture,
art, and heritage.
“Love your country, love its stories, love what shapes you.”
“I Museum” reimagines Valentine’s Day as a celebration of love beyond romance—love for knowledge, memory, and identity. Through guided museum visits and live sketching activities, participants engage directly with the facade and architectural details of the National Museum of the Philippines, practicing careful observation, reflection, and sensory awareness.
Live sketching serves as a pedagogical tool that encourages:
• slow looking and critical thinking,
• respect for heritage structures, and
• embodied learning through art.
"Rather than passive viewing, participants actively translate historical spaces into visual studies, reinforcing museums as spaces of learning rather than mere destinations."

About the Activity
“I Museum” reframes Valentine’s Day as a celebration of love for knowledge, identity, and history. Instead of romantic consumption, participants take part in guided museum visits and live sketching activities, focusing on the facade and architectural details of the National Museum of the Philippines as part of visual studies and heritage appreciation.
Through live sketching, participants practice slow observation, reflection, and sensory engagement—an approach that counters the growing disconnect caused by overexposure to digital gadgets. The program encourages today’s youth not only to see museums, but to experience them as living spaces of memory, truth, and national courage.
