Joe Dassin was a legendary American-born French crooner, with innumerable hits beloved around the world, and gone too soon. Now, singer Julien Dassin is returning for a long-awaited tour in North America, with a tribute program, dedicated to his late father. As the son of the singer Joe, and the grandson of the filmmaker Jules, Julien is the third generation of the Dassin artistic dynasty. After initially debuting as a comedic theatrical performer, Julien solidified his musical legacy by collecting, rearranging and performing his father’s musical hits across the world. In 2016, Julien’s new recording of "Champs Elysées" was included in Sony Music’s Tribute to Joe Dassin. Performing alongside a choir, he toured around France, including five sold-out nights at the famed Olympia in Paris. Since then, Julien Dassin has brought together an ensemble of some of France’s best musicians, called the "Paris Tour Eiffel Orchestra" (among them Joe Dassin’s original band percussionist and the pianist and accordionist Charles Trenet).
