FHBB Book Club: "Maid" with The Kuhlmans

“Maid” is Stephanie Land’s raw and gripping memoir of becoming a single mother, cleaning houses to survive, and fighting her way through the maze of poverty in America. As she scrubs the homes of the wealthy, she exposes the harsh reality of living on food stamps, unreliable housing, and constant judgment—while chasing the dream of a better life through night classes and writing. It’s a powerful look at the dignity of all work and the razor-thin margin so many families live on.
