No preparation is needed, but wear clothes and shoes you can dance in.

Auditions are open to performers ages 9 through adult, and all levels of experience are encouraged to attend. Whether you are stepping onto the stage for the first time or are a seasoned performer, there is a place for you in this production.

As part of this large community collaboration, many of the featured dances will be performed by our partner organizations, and a small number of principal roles — including Sugar Plum Fairy, Cavalier, and Nutcracker — have been cast in advance to support the technical and partnering requirements of the production.

Open auditions at the MAC will focus on casting many of the production’s key theatrical and ensemble roles, including party guests, mice, soldiers, featured character roles, and additional performers who help bring the story to life. These roles are central to the energy, humor, magic, and spectacle of The Nutcracker and will offer meaningful stage opportunities for performers of all experience levels.
