- **Event Description**: We're doing something special for our monthly bird walk in September! After our regular 8AM Second Saturday Early Birds bird walk at Fontainebleau State Park, we'll keep the party going with bird walks around the Northshore! Our schedule is as follows:

8AM- Fontainebleau State Park. Meet by the Splash Pad.
10AM- Boy Scout Road @ Big Branch NWR. 
Noon- Northlake Nature Center.
2PM- Fairview State Park (Meet by the Swamp Boardwalk).
4PM- Neighborwoods Park.

All experience levels welcome, especially newcomers. Feel free to attend as many walks as you'd like. Attend all five and receive an official Pelican Park hat! 

There is a $3 entrance fee into the state parks. Alex Landry will lead all bird walks.

Vortex Optics binoculars are available for participants thanks to a generous donation from Sport Optics!

Sunscreen, water, hiking shoes, and a hat are recommended. Bring a lunch and snacks if you intend on joining us all day. 

Accessibility:
The field trips will take place on flat ground covered in grass or hard packed mud, a sandy beach, and raised boardwalks. There will be minimal elevation changes. 

Restrooms are accessible at Fontainebleau State Park and Fairview State Park; Northlake Nature Center has a porta potty; Boy Scout Road and Neighborwoods do not have facilities. 

The parking lot is paved with designated handicap spots at Fontainebleau and Fairview State Parks. Boy Scout road has one designated paved handicap spot. Northlake Nature Center and Neighborwoods have gravel parking lots without designated parking. 

Fontainebleau and Fairview State Park has an all-terrain wheelchair available to rent on a first come, first serve basis that can be reserved at https://www.lastateparks.com/all-terrain-chair Please let us know if you reserve it so we can ensure it is ready for the walk.
