Artists, musicians and thinkers discuss notions of youth culture and it’s relationship to ageing. Bringing together Whitworth Young Contemporaries old and new, alongside voices from diverse fields and decades of youth culture.

Poet in Residence
Cave Man will open and close the event with spoken word provocations.

What is an Emerging Artist?
Esme Ward, Head of Learning and Engagement at the Whitworth, chairs a conversation between Whitworth Young Contemporaries old and new, including Michael Lyons. Fiona Moat, Helen Newman and Sophie Mahon.

How Does Youth Culture Age?
Dr. Saskia Warren, Lecturer in Human Geography at The of Manchester University, leads our second discussion on youth culture and it’s relationship with ageing with Tom McClung (WU LYF/Francis Lung), John Hyatt (The Three Johns/MMU), James Barnor (Photographer), Shereen Perara (Video Jam/Contact Theatre)
