Across the sessions, we will spend time together designing and creating a risograph print, taking inspiration from Caroline’s vibrant visual language and from the outdoor spaces, gardens and natural surroundings of the Whitworth.Caroline is a multidisciplinary artist based in and from Manchester whose work is inspired by the connection between nature, wellbeing and community. Her practice uses colour, shape and fluid lines to create uplifting, playful work that invites people to pause, notice and connect.These sessions offer time to slow down, spend time in nature, make, create and connect with others who understand the pain of losing a baby in pregnancy or soon after birth. You do not need any previous art experience, the workshops will be relaxed, supportive and guided throughout.As this is a two-part series, we ask that participants are available to attend both workshops so there is time to develop ideas and create the artwork.After the second workshop, the prints will be finished on the risograph printer at Caroline’s studio. They will then be available to collect from the Whitworth at an agreed time.Caroline worked with a Still Parents group in 2024, and prints created through that project are now available to buy in the Whitworth shop. As part of this series, there will also be an opportunity for copies of your print to be displayed in the shop and made available to purchase.The workshops are free to attend and are supported by Manchester Sands.
