Spanish Manchester Acro Holiday 2018

From the team that brought you the Manchester Aerial & Acrobatics Convention which sold out in 2016 and then quadrupled in size for 2017 and sold out again...!

You hardworking acrobats need a break from the miserable (presumably) rainy Mancunian summer of 2018 - but what's the fun of going on holiday if you can't take all your acro buddies with you and learn some crazy new death defying tricks?

Ever tried hand to hand in the sea?
Ever tried to do acro with horrific sunburn?
Ever tried the high flyer when you're both covered in suncream..?

NO? Then you obviously need to come to SMACRO 2018.

Here are the details, although it is currently in the very early draft stages, so I need your input and enthusiasm to make it work for everyone. I'll try and give as much detail as possible.

The plan is to fly out from Manchester en masse on Wednesday 22nd August 2018 and arrive in Spain. We will then go to the resort where we'll be staying in bungalows that sleep 5. You can either group 5 people together yourself or you can let us know how many in your group and we will put you together in the bungalows. We will try to get an earlyish (not 2am) flight from Manchester so we can have as much of Wednesday in Spain as possible. You will have the Wednesday to settle in and chill out.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday we will have acro workshops from some high level teachers. We've been offered the use of a sports hall on site so if it gets too hot or does something crazy like torrential rain then we can go indoors, otherwise we can go and train on the beach which is literally two minutes away or in the grounds of the resort itself because it's massive.

The Sunday will be yours to sightsee, sunbathe, or undo the previous three days of acro brutality by drowning yourself in sangria.

Monday and Tuesday will be more acro workshops then we fly home again (those of us who haven't decided to burn our passports and stay forever) on Wednesday 28th.

I will endeavour to keep the price around £500 which will include your flights, your accommodation and a food pass which will get you breakfast and dinner in the resort so the only spending you will have to do is lunch and aforementioned sangria.

I can't price up the flights or accommodation until November of this year because that's when the 2018 prices come out so I will have a better idea of costs then. I am endeavouring to book flights and accommodation in November once I have got the best group price. To do this I need absolute confirmation from you that you will be coming, together with a deposit for the whole cost of the flight and a little bit more for the accommodation deposit. I will not book anything on a promise even if you're my best friend, it has to be money down to secure your place. I should be able to tell you the exact cost of the whole holiday before you put down your first deposit as it's the accommodation and flight cost that make it variable. I'm anticipating the cost of the deposit to be around £200.

I will also have confirmation of all the teachers by then.

From January I will accept monthly deposits from you for the rest of the holiday so you can spread the cost out. The flight deposits will be entirely non-refundable once I have booked the flights and accommodation, but should you be unable to attend you can sell your ticket to someone else (they will need to cover the cost of changing the flight details over).

If you are not Manchester based you are welcome to sort your own flight and meet us there and this will be taken off the price of the holiday for you.

There will be limited places on this holiday (around 30) and so the level will be high intermediate - you don't have to be able to do hand to hand but you must at least be working towards it. I will release full pre-requisites when I have confirmation of teachers but this holiday is definitely not suitable for those with little to no acro experience. Fortunately, you do have over a year to get good so if you're a beginner get your ass to class!

Confirmed teachers so far are the ever amazing need-no-introduction Forma Fortis because I just can't run a convention without them, I love them. And Alex is the only person to ever get me in long arm hand to hand and I want that H2H beach at sunset picture for my instagram.

Also confirmed is Manchester's very own (world touring no less!) acro couple who grew the scene from nothing to the amazing pioneering level it is today, of course it's Scott & Michaela!

We will confirm a few more teachers when they've signed up.

I think that's everything. I know it's crazy early to be thinking about a holiday in August next year but we will be starting the booking process in November which is only three months away. If any info changes I will post it here. Feel free to ask any questions if I haven't covered it in the mammoth amount of text above! If you ask a question that I have answered above I will sit next to you on the flight and sing I Know A Song That Will Get On Your Nerves for the whole journey.

I am so excited!
