Sound x Tracks
an urban cycling tour through Manchester blending sound, field recordings, and storytelling.
How can cities be reimagined through collective listening?
Sound x Tracks is an immersive urban cycling tour. A swarm of cyclists equipped with mobile loudspeakers moves through Manchester. Guided by the artist Conny Zenk, the group ride creates a multi-channel sonic experience in which urban noise, field recordings, and storytelling intertwine with the rhythms of cycling. Together, these sounds trace connections between memory, environment, and infrastructure. Sound x Tracks invites collective listening as a way to explore the acoustic landscapes of everyday life and to reimagine the city through sound.
Conny Zenk is an artist and artistic researcher exploring hybrid contexts between performance, video and sound art and the urban space. She is currently a PhD in Art canditate at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Her work includes projects in Europe and Asia, numerous collaborations in the field of audio-visual experimental concerts, and transdisciplinary and transcultural forms of action in public space. Conny Zenk is the founder of the art project RAD Performance.
