This week, there will be an open mic followed by a FEATURE from Warren Longmire!! There is a $3-$5 sliding scale cover and this is an all-ages show. Longmire is aa writer, performer, educator, and technologist from the bad part of North Philadelphia. He is a CUPSI Grand Slam finalist, and an NPS group piece finalist. As the founder of House Poet: A Spoken Word Dance Party and co-host of The Flat Imagination Workshop, Warren strives to create spaces where musicians, writers, activists and engineers can build with common purpose and shared ambition. In 2021, Warren's work was featured in the Best American Poetry selected by Tracey K. Smith. He is featured in journals including American Poetry Review, The Offing, and Action, Spectacle. His latest book, Bird/Diz [an erased history of bebop] was released in Nov. 2022 through BUNNY Presse. Accessibility Information: The entrance to our show is at the back of the building with no stairs to enter the space. There is a ramp through the main bar for access to the ADA compliant bathrooms. About Slam Free Or Die - Poetry Open Mic & Slam: Slam Free Or Die @ Stark Brewing Company is a series of open mic nights for poets and spoken-word artists every Thursday night in Manchester, NH. There is an open mic every night and poetry slams are also held several times a month. Doors open and sign-ups begin at 7pm with open mic beginning at 8pm. Featured poets and slams follows the open mic. Come and enjoy the delicious food and beverages at Stark Brewing Company! There is a $3-$5 sliding scale cover charge.
