Founded in 2008 by 30 women farmers as a small association, it has grown into an autonomous cooperative of more than 2,000 members. Caravan began working with Sholi in 2020, sourcing both washed and natural coffees for our core blends. But this particular lot is something truly special.Each year, Caravan and Sholi host a competition among cooperative members. Natural process coffees scoring 87+ points on the SCA scale are entered and cupped by both the Sholi quality team and Caravan’s roasting team. In 2025, Jamie, Meels and Attila travelled to Rwanda to take part in this process. The highest-scoring coffees are combined to create this exceptional release, The Sholi Top Lot.Farmers behind these outstanding coffees receive a secondary premium payment. In addition, at the producers’ own suggestion, each winning farmer is awarded a goat, with both incentives funded by Caravan.
