# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Picnic Club at the Grafton Arms
- **Event Start and End Date**: Thu, 15 Oct, 2026 at 07:30 pm – Thu, 15 Oct, 2026 at 10:00 pm (+01:00)
- **Event Description**: Picnic Club at the Grafton Arms, 27 Grafton Street, Manchester M13 9WU, on Thursday 15th October 2026. Long-running alt country/acoustic/powerpop showcase, now at its new location in the University area next to the Manchester Royal Infirmary, 7.30pm, adm free. The artistes: Picnic Area, The Blazing Snowmen, Steve O’Donoghue, and Wyndham Boxall.

On first 7.30pm sharp will be our hosts Picnic Area, playing a blend of country music, 60s pop and punk attitude to create a unique sound of their own. www.reverbnation.com/picnicarea

Then we welcome back Wyndham Boxall, a brilliant Peterborough-based singer songwriter who has already made a big impression in Manchester thanks to previous Picnic Club appearances and being featured on Ed Warne’s show on All FM. Wyndham’s songwriting encompasses an acoustic version of powerpop in its widest sense, from epic Beatlesque ballads to upbeat Weezer-ish anthems like “Winning”. https://music.youtube.com/channel/UCseN5NrQ2aO2bKNicutaPJg

Steve O’Donoghue is one of Manchester’s top songwriters and has played support to many leading acts. His music has been compared to the likes of Aztec Camera and Prefab Sprout. As well as being highly melodic, his songs are intelligently written but are also capable of great emotional depth. You can hear some of his music at https://www.reverbnation.com/steveodonoghue

Our headliners The Blazing Snowmen have been described as “Alan Bennett backed by the Lancashire Doors” and are one of Manchester’s most interesting and longest established bands. Their observations of human foibles are expressed in their sardonic satirical lyrics, often at their own expense, as they reflect on expanding waistlines and recently-developed tastes for asparagus. They will be promoting their new album AND book of song lyrics! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_klzNwedioGXtwi5dwmgvpCnJ9Wpgskm_8

There’s no parking in Grafton Street apart from a few disabled spaces, so we’d recommend the Manchester Royal Infirmary Carpark (£4 for 3 hours, £5 for 4 hours) next to the Grafton Arms.
