This is a unique opportunity to see the project in process and discus the key interventions and complexities of this incredibly exciting project."John Rylands was a successful Manchester entrepreneur. The Rylands Building was built in the 1930s as a show of prosperity and ambition. Combining heritage and beauty with a reimagined vision for the future."The former Debenhams was originally a wholesale textile warehouse, originally constructed in 1932 and designed by Harry S Fairhurst. Now Grade II listed, the building is one of the last and largest textile warehouses in the city.Tours will start promptly at 16:00. There is no opportunity to join mid tour as this is a live site, please make sure you arrive in good time. This is a tour of a live site, as such accessibility is limited.
