# Event Details - **Event Name**: November Homeschool Events - **Event Start and End Date**: Thu, 13 Nov, 2025 at 12:00 pm - **Event Description**: November Homeschool Events: Pumpkin Science: Dissecting Pumpkins Monday, November 3, 3:30 PM Explore the guts of a pumpkin! Students will review what a plant needs to grow before diving into a fresh pumpkin to identify and learn about the internal and external parts of a pumpkin and what role they play in its healthy development. Students will learn about the parts of a pumpkin, where and how pumpkins grow, and learn about a Michigan pumpkin farmer. We will use a pumpkin to identify the parts of the pumpkin and how they support healthy growth. Students will build a pumpkin life cycle using pictures to identify the process, from seed to decomposition. Please pre-register City Room The Blessed Midwest: The Great Plains 6 week session continues Tuesdays at 3 PM, November 4, 11, and 18 November 4: North Dakota and South Dakota November 11: Nebraska and Kansas November 18: Iowa and Missouri Journey through our Nation's 50 states with us! We will start off this fall with a 6 week series exploring the Midwest two states at a time. We will be using the journal book by Write it Down series by Journals Unlimited: Let's Go See All 50! Meet City Room & Council Chambers Young Homeschoolers Storytime Monday, November 10, 11 AM Monthly, Every 2nd Monday For those young homeschoolers ages 6 and under, join Miss Abby for stories, songs, and crafts while getting to know fellow homeschoolers in the community. This group is meant to be more than just a story hour, but a homeschooling group that can mature and grow into other activities. This group will meet each month, every second Monday. Ages 6 and under Main Floor Library Christmas Caroling and Beginner Ukulele Practice Mondays at 4PM November 10 and 17 Join us in the City Room as we practice singing traditional Christmas carols while also learning a few beginner-friendly Christmas songs on the ukulele. You may choose to just sing and not play the ukulele, or you can check one out from the library before our practice (or bring your own). Most of our songs will be using our voices only.
