BMX BANDITS (duo performance)

Cult Scottish indie-pop band BMX Bandits were formed in 1985 by songwriter and lead vocalist Duglas T Stewart out of the ashes of The Pretty Flowers, a short-lived group that featured Stewart alongside Frances McKee (The Vaselines), Sean Dickson (The Soup Dragons) and Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub). Their songs mix melodic qualities and humour with, at times, raw and heartbreaking pathos. Once credited as the band Kurt Cobain would most like to be in, it's now 40 years since the release of the exuberant ‘E102’ on Stephen Pastels' 53rd & 3rd label, where they were label mates with The Vaselines and Beat Happening. This will be a stripped down and more intimate performance by two of the band.

THE CORDS

Scottish jangle pop sister duo Grace and Eve Tedeschi write the most delightful indie pop songs. Their debut album, recently released on Skep Wax/ Slumberland records, wears it's C86/ Sarah records influences on it's sleeve, yet their sound is so distinctively their own, with dreamy vocals and melodies that stay with you long after listening. Not surprising that they have been praised by the likes of the Pastels, Belle and Sebastian and the BMX Bandits.

C’EST QUI?

C’est Qui? are a groovy- garage- glamorous- grimy- gnarly- punk band from Utrecht . It all came about when four different genres walked into a room and birthed an out of control little punk baby. C’est Qui? Looks like they escaped ‘One flew over the cuckoos nest’, feels like a 10 ton truck hits you in the face and smells like red shiny pumps fresh out of the box.

COWTOWN

Leeds DIY heroes Cowtown describe themselves as 'dynamic, over stimulated indie rock'. With a mix of angular and energetic new wave that brings to mind Talking Heads and Devo, make sure you get there early as this is not to be missed.
