The third annual Manchester Community Tree Lighting celebration begins at 4 PM with free treats, caroling, visits with Santa and a limited supply of free ornaments at Silk City Coffee, 763 Main St..
The party moves up Main Street at about 5 o’clock, when Santa gets picked up by the fire department and everybody carols up to Center Congregational Church at 11 Center St.
The festivities continue with more caroling, hosted by Rylie Pennington and her dad Dan, featuring the CAST Children’s Theater Choir!
Children’s activities and hospitality take place both inside and outside the church until the mayor comes out to welcome everyone at about 530.
The actual tree lighting takes place at about 5:45 and then the caroling and festivities continue until 7 PM.
There will be special guests, including Miss Connecticut Teen-USA Daviana Plaza and Manchester resident Alexandria Plaza, Miss Hartford County (competing for Miss Connecticut and hopefully Miss USA!)!!
The evening features horse drawn carriages offering rides on Linden Street for five dollars a ride for four people, with the proceeds going to 2nd Congregational Church Food Pantry.
This event is brought to you by the Town Of Manchester, Center Congregational Church, Silk City Coffee and Ken O’Hare insurance!
The tree was generously donated to the community in 2023 by Newcity Builders!
