Kinofilm returns for the 15th edition with a bumper festival, packed full of 45 film screening, education events, parties and galas. Advance Festival passes now on sale exclusively here.

Sample over 250 short films from around the world in special categories and themed programmes. Whether you are into drama, experimental, animation or just wonderful new ideas and uniques stories from around the world, there will be something for everyone in this 9 day short film extravaganza, with short films from across all continents. Special themed programmes include a focus on Women in Film, Romantic Tales, Crime Film Noir, Sci-fi/fantasy, the dark and light side of animated shorts, plus our special Polish Animation programme O!PLA (films awarded by audiences and juries from across Poland.

Country categories included in our Eurocine section this year are specially curated film programmes focusing on France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia and Poland plus a pan European programme.

Continuing to grow year by year is our Focus on new Iranian Cinema, with short films and an animated feature straight from the new emerging filmmakers from Iran telling some incredible stories.

Not forgetting a range of education events, from masterclasses to workshops to seminars, with special guests and presenters.

The main venue for the 2018 15th Edition is the recently reopened Nia Cultural and Arts Centre, now known as Niamos Radical Art & Culture Centre (formally a Theatre, Cinema and BBC Playhouse, African Arts Centre and most recently a church), is now back in the hands of the community, and we are totally excited to presenting the festival at Niamos (a welcome return to the community. Additional venues will include the Instituto Cervantes, Alliance Francaise and the University of Manchester, plus a special Pop Up cinema we will be building upstairs in Goodstock Charity shop, Oxford Road, Manchester.
