- **Event Description**: JUSTIN CURRIE in conversation: 'THE TREMOLO DIARIES: LIFE ON THE ROAD AND OTHER DISEASES’About this EventFour years ago at the age of 56 Del Amitri’s Justin Currie was having problems playing guitar on one of his most familiar and most popular songs ‘Nothing Ever Happens’. Something wasn’t right. After the tour he went to see a neurologist. So begins The Tremolo Diaries, Justin Currie’s poetic, self-deprecating diaries as he deals with the immediate aftermath of his post-Parkinsons diagnosis life and heads out on an epic tour in the U.S.Part meditative memoir, part fascinating travelogue of life on the road in the 21st Century, Justin guides us from gig to gig via art galleries, parks, bars and sites of natural beauty. As he contemplates the long-term ramifications both personally and professionally of this incurable and little understood condition, he allows us into a world of love and friendship, life and loss.‘I decide I’m going to keep working, keep touring, keep playing, despite the uneasy feeling that another man is growing inside me, slowly seizing the means of control. It’s as if your own shadow has leapt from the ground and buried itself within you. And this shadow has malevolent intent. He may share my shape, but now we’re combined, it’s a fight to find out who has the most valid claim.’ Justin CurrieWe have two ticket options available: * Event Only and *Event with Discounted Book Combo deal - books will be available for collection at the Festival. Our event will be followed by a dedicated signing event with Justin. RRP books will also be available for purchase on the day.About the Author:Justin Currie has been lead singer and songwriter with Scottish rock band Del Amitri since 1980.
