# Event Details - **Event Name**: Human Natures Culture Monday - **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 22 Jun, 2026 at 11:00 am – Mon, 22 Jun, 2026 at 02:00 pm - **Event Description**: Manchester Museum opens its doors for a special day of culture and nature aimed at people aged 50 and over.About this Event Enjoy the Museum at a quieter time and explore our new temporary exhibition, Human Natures, as part of our Age-Friendly Culture Monday programme. Human Natures explores stories of overconsumption and the exploitation of animals, plants and minerals. The exhibition examines the impact these practices have on climate, biodiversity and communities around the world, while also showcasing inspiring examples of individuals and organisations taking action to live more sustainably and in balance with nature. During the day, you will have the opportunity to join a guided tour of the exhibition led by one of its curators and to take part in a relaxed sewing workshop inspired by the themes of the exhibition. Led by artist and practitioner Yvonne Noworyta, this relaxed drop-in sewing workshop will take place between 11:15am and 2:00pm. You can join at any time during the session to create handmade gift bags and brooches using scraps of fabric. Inspired by the themes of Human Natures, the workshop explores creative ways to reuse and repurpose materials while offering opportunities for making, conversation and reflection. No previous sewing experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. Participants are also welcome to bring a piece of fabric and/or an item of clothing that they would like to incorporate into their creations. Any materials brought from home should be clean, washed and dry, in line with the Museum's conservation requirements. Please note that the Museum Café is closed on Mondays. Complimentary tea and coffee will be provided, and you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
