Free Talk: Native Plants 101: Beyond the Buzzwords

This is one of several free, in-person public talks by Devon Snyder of Sedge & Soil. Let’s demystify the path toward a lower-maintenance landscape that works with nature, supports wildlife, and engages us with the place we call home. Each event will provide participants tools to start their own native landscaping journey in 2026.

This free public event will explore the joys of gardening with native plants. Guests will leave feeling empowered, with resources to start their gardening journey in 2026.

We’ll answer questions like:
What does ‘native’ even mean?
Can I trust wildflower seed mixes and ‘pollinator friendly’ labels?
Where and when can I get these plants?
What can a native-dominant garden look like?
