- **Event Description**: The Levitt AMP Manchester Music Series returns to Veterans Memorial Park this Thursday, August 13, with an evening of bluegrass, folk, and Americana featuring Old Hat Stringband with RockSpring opening the show. The park opens at 5:00 p.m. with food trucks and family-friendly activities, followed by live music from 6:00–9:00 p.m. As always, the concert is free, all ages and open to everyone.

Based in Southern Maine, Old Hat Stringband brings together tight vocal harmonies and a driving acoustic rhythm section, drawing inspiration from bluegrass, old-time, folk and country traditions. Featuring Whitney Roy on guitar and vocals and Steve Roy on mandolin, fiddle and vocals, Old Hat Stringband has built a following across New England with its accomplished musicianship and energetic live performances.

Old Hat’s debut album, Powerlines, was released in 2022 and features 10 original songs written by Steve and Whitney Roy. The band has appeared on stages throughout the region and beyond, including the Prescott Park Arts Festival, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, The Music Hall in Portsmouth, Stone Mountain Arts Center and Wind Gap Bluegrass Festival.

Opening the evening is Portsmouth’s RockSpring, bringing its own high-energy take on bluegrass and Americana to Veterans Park beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The August 13th show begins the second half of the inaugural Levitt AMP Manchester Music Series, with four free Thursday night concerts remaining and a diverse lineup spanning bluegrass and Americana, acoustic folk, hip-hop and classical fusion, and New Orleans-inspired jazz.

The Levitt AMP manchester Music Series is powered by the Levitt Family Foundation and produced locally by City Year New Hampshire in partnership with the City of Manchester, transforming Veterans Memorial Park into a vibrant community gathering place through free, high-quality original live music.

The 2026 Levitt AMP Manchester Music Series is supported locally by sponsors including the City of Manchester, Common Man Roadside, Stonyfield Organic, Delta Dental, Wind River Environmental, DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown, New Hampshire Public Radio, Events United, Win Studios, and Queen City Center.

Each Thursday, Veterans Memorial Park opens at 5:00 p.m., giving attendees an opportunity to grab food, enjoy family-friendly activities and connect with community organizations before live music begins at 6:00 p.m. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets, invite family, friends and neighbors, and grab dinner from a downtown Manchester restaurant or one of the food vendors on site.
