This 1 day course has been designed for therapists and health professionals working in cancer care. As an introduction to key concepts, you will learn about common types of cancer, treatments and terms used on the cancer journey. We will also explore practical worries, concerns and resources available to patients and their families.
If taken on the same weekend as “Practical Issues in Cancer Care” then the price is £195 for the whole weekend.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is often on-road parking on streets around the hospital at weekends but please take care to read the parking restriction signs carefully. Most of them are ‘Monday – Friday’ restrictions but there are some that are ‘Residents Only’ parking bays. Car Park C on Palatine Road and Car Park D on Wilmslow Road both have a £1.50 flat charge.
What do I need to bring to the event?
Manuals or other training materials will be provided.
We advise you do not bring any valuables with you, we can not be responsible for loss or theft of any personal items whilst on hospital property
Lunch is not included but refreshments will be provided in the Rehab Unit throughout the day. There are also a cafeteria, coffee shops and vending machines onsite where you can buy a variety of hot and cold foods, drinks and snacks.
What should I wear to the event?
Dress code is ‘relaxed’. Tunics or uniforms are not required. For ‘hands-on’ courses we suggest loose and comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in.

What's the refund policy?
• Over 4 weeks’ cancellation notice: Full refund or fees transferred to another course • 2-4 weeks’ cancellation notice: 50% refund or fees transferred to another course • Less than 14 days’ cancellation notice: Fees may be transferred for some courses. Refunds may be given in exceptional circumstances. In case of illness a medical certificate may be requested. • Less than 7 days’ cancellation notice: Fees may be transferred for some courses. No refunds given.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
We encourage you to bring any ticket or conformation that may be required in a paperless format i.e on your phone or tablet or in the Eventbrite app.
If you have received a booking confirmation from The Christie then we are aware of your booking and have a record of your Eventbrite registration and ticket number.
If you have not had received a confirmation from The Christie please contact Sarah Wilkins as above prior to the event.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Yes, within the terms of our cancellation & refund policy we will be happy to transfer your booking to a different course. Should that course be of a higher price we will ask you to pay the difference.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
No, if you would like to transfer your booking to another person please contact us to make arrangements.
