Join us for a fun session where you can learn to play and move like a samba reggae drummer, playing the sounds of Bahia on one of four instruments. Sessions will be held at Chorlton high School South (451 Mauldeth Rd W, Manchester M21 7SX). Full instruction and all drums and kit will be provided – please bring your own earplugs or purchase on the day at a cost of £2.Book one of two available sessions:Saturday 8th November 1 – 3pm (Active session time 90 minutes 1.15pm – 2.45pm with a break).Saturday 8th November 3 – 5pm (Active session time 90 minutes 3.15pm – 4.45pm with a break).We will then have a social at the Chorlton Tap from 5.15pm which is your chance to ask any questions and get to know the band!Following this taster session, join our 8-week Tuesday evening beginners course to deepen your Batala rhythms, build your drumming skills, and work towards performing with the main band for local, national and even international performances! Arriving on time (1pm or 3pm) will help us keep everything running smoothly. We would appreciate as much advance notice if you can no longer attend your taster session to allow one of the many on our waiting list the opportunity to give this a go!
