MASTERCLASS OVERVIEW
The Balanced Scorecard has been one of the most influential strategic management tools developed over the past 30 years, and has helped shaped the development of business performance management systems and approaches to the management of people, operations, customers and finance across the world.
In this course, you will learn about the strategic fit of the balanced scorecard and the core elements and practices required to successfully implement a scorecard framework within your organization.
You will learn how to apply the balanced scorecard to your strategic planning and how to use the framework to map strategy and create alignment between the core drivers of performance in your business. In addition, you will learn how to develop scorecards using KRA’s and KPI’s and how to develop scorecards for different functional units and activities in the organization.
You will also learn about managing your scorecards using Excel and automation of the scorecard using best practice software systems. You can learn more about measuring and managing performance across the core perspectives (finance, customer and markets, operations and people management).
Schedule: The Masterclass is scheduled over 3 x 4 hour Virtual Sessions , conducted over a period of 3 consecutive weeks.

Info: In this first Masterclass session, we look in detail at the role of the balanced scorecard in managing and improving business performance. You will learn about the structure of the scorecard, and its many iterations when applied to differing business contexts, and the scorecard's invaluable contribution to business' around the world. You will also learn about and how to apply a range of balanced scorecard design techniques, including strategy mapping, causal analysis, identifying strategic themes, and identifying strategic initiatives
Info: In this second session, you will learn how to develop KPI's and targets for your selected scorecard objectives and improvement initiative milestones. You will learn about the different types of metrics you can apply, and the criteria for choosing the most viable metrics for your scorecard.
Info: In this final session, we explore best practice in deploying the balanced scorecard successfully in the organization, and how the scorecard can be cascaded through the organization through a network of aligned business unit and team scorecards, and ultimately with the existing employee performance management system. You will also learn about using MS Excel and the potential to apply scorecard software systems to automate reporting.
