Anjuman: a new Mushaira

Anjuman is a new inclusive mushaira created by multilingual poet, scriptwriter, and performer Anjum Malik.

Mushaira is the Urdu word for a poetic gathering. This mushaira will celebrate feminist poetry and takes its inspiration from the seminal 1990 publication, We Sinful Women: contemporary Urdu feminist poetry, translated and edited by Rukhsana Ahmad. This will be an evening of invited guests reading from the anthology, their own and other’s work in South Asian languages including English.
