SEVA DAYS at Lotus Bend Sanctuary

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙚𝙫𝙖? 𝗦𝗘𝗩𝗔 (or sevā in Sanskrit) is the practice of selfless service performed without expectation of reward or recognition. Rooted in yogic and spiritual traditions, it is an act of love and devotion that benefits others while purifying the heart and fostering deep connection—to the self, community, and the sacred.

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀

Dear friends and fellow travelers on this sacred journey, you are warmly invited to join our recurring Monthly SEVA Sundays at Lotus Bend Sanctuary, held on the third Sunday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. These days are dedicated to caring for the land that has held and nourished us throughout the year, and reconnecting with each other.

Through joyful, collective effort, we offer our energy back to this sacred space.

**𝘚𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸. These gatherings are open to all who feel called to give back through selfless service.

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:

• Pruning low-hanging or dead branches near key features such as the Buddha deck, labyrinth, and lodge.
• Spreading mulch in parking areas.
• Detail clearing around the main building, removing overgrowth within approximately five feet of the structure.
• Clearing the creek side opposite the labyrinth and fire circle: W**d-eating tall grasses, removing and burning fallen limbs, and restoring access across the rock wall (with an emerging vision for a Ganesh/Hanuman shrine in a natural rock alcove).
• Managing controlled burn piles.
• Constructing or repairing privacy fencing to the RV back area.

𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

Our Full-day 'come as you can' format (11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.); arrive and depart as suits your schedule.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 are welcome for those traveling from afar or wishing to 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚).

Day trippers: Showers and resting quarters are accessible for those who need them.

𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀: Hearty soups, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱: Tools and task guidance will be available on-site; feel free to bring your preferred tools.

All participants will be asked to read and initial the Lotus Bend Sanctuary Waiver of Risk prior to beginning work.

These SEVA days are intended as joyful opportunities for kindred spirits to connect deeply—with themselves, one another, and the sacred land—through the simple, profound act of giving.
