Priest Ranch Winemaker Dinner Series

The Priest Ranch Wine Dinner at Dover Hall is an intimate five-course culinary experience celebrating the wines of , crafted from estate vineyards across the historic Somerston Estate in Napa Valley. The evening is guided by alongside , who will lead guests through the structure, intention, and site-driven philosophy behind each wine.

Hurd brings a thoughtful, precision-focused approach to winemaking, shaped by hands-on experience across Napa Valley and a deep respect for Somerston’s rugged terrain. Working with vineyards that span dramatic elevations, rocky hillsides, and diverse soil compositions, he is known for crafting wines that balance power with restraint—allowing purity of fruit and sense of place to take center stage.

A highlight of the evening is Course III, where coffee-braised short rib—finished with potato foam, dill oil, and crisped russet chip—is paired with Priest Ranch, Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine’s dark fruit, structured tannins, and savory undertones echo the richness of the dish while cutting through its depth, creating a pairing that is both bold and beautifully composed.
