The Blues - BYM Third Thursday

A night of Blues Guitar music – and it’s free. You must call to reserve seats. Doors open at 6:00pm.

Cole Allen, a STL based Blues guitarist/vocalist (with roots in the Bootheel), will kick off our 2026 Third Thursday events. Cole studied classical and jazz guitar at Webster University in Webster Groves, MO while earning his BA in music. Towards the end of his college career a friend introduced Cole to Chicago Jump Blues music. Specifically T-Bone Walker. Cole said, “This music changed my musical direction.” Soon after Cole could be found hanging out in blues clubs in downtown STL where he would meet musicians and often get on stage to “sit-in”. He met Texas Bluesman John McVey at one of these jams. He mentored Cole on how to play this music as he does today! Recently Cole was the headliner for an evening of Chicago Blues at the National Blues Museum in St Louis.
