Man erlebt mit „Morrison Hotel“ einen musikalischen Flashback mitten hinein in die wilde Flower-Power-Welt der späten sechziger Jahre. Effektvoll werden Klassiker wie „Light My Fire“, „Break On Through“, „Riders On The Storm“, „L.A. Woman“, „Roadhouse Blues“, „When The Music’s Over“ oder „The End“ umgesetzt. Aber auch weniger bekannte Songs der DOORS wie „Universal Mind“, „Ship Of Fools“, „My Eyes Have Seen You“ gehören zum Repertoire. 

​„The Morrison Hotel“ spielen nicht nur einfach die DOORS live, sie performen die DOORS. Nicht zuletzt trägt die imposante Performance, als auch die Stimmfarbe der ex New-Yorker Blueschoriphäe & Frontmann Erik Klingenberg dazu bei. Seine Stimme enthält nahezu alle Facetten, welche auch Jim Morrison’s Stimme ausgemacht haben. Mal klar und betörend hypnotisch wie der junge Jim, der mit dieser Stimme alles an Zuviel im Raum ausblenden konnte, dann wieder kernig, rau und abgeklärt wie der späte, der bluesige Mr. Morrison.

Aber was wären die DOORS ohne Keyboards? In Ray Manzarek´s Spuren tritt Thomas Vogt mit dem originalen analogen Sound einer Gibson G-101, Vox Continental und einem Fender Rhodes Piano Bass. Vogt´s Stil verpasst dem gesamten Ouvré einen frischen Glanz, als wären die DOORS gerade aus L.A. angereist...

​Schon unzählige Konzertbesucher wurden mit viel Pathos auf eine mystische Zeitreise in die rebellische Welt der DOORS geführt, um die musikalische Erinnerung an eine der legendärsten amerikanischen Rock-Bands aufrecht zu erhalten und lassen sich auch gerne noch nach einem 2-stündigen Set noch zu einer Zugabe bitten :-)
