Through flowing movements, mindful postures, deep breathing and meditative focus, it nurtures the flow of Qi – our vital energy. By balancing and cultivating this life force, Qigong helps us tap into our inner vitality, thereby reducing stress, building stamina and enhancing overall well-being. It strengthens circulation, boosts immunity and fosters a profound sense of harmony.

During this weekend retreat, we will learn some basic qigong and gain insight into its relationship with Chinese medicine and the five elements. The course will offer simple and gentle, yet powerful ways to reconnect and balance body and mind through the practice of qigong.

This retreat is facilitated by Wendy Newstadt, a qigong teacher and a shiatsu therapist. She studied qigong with Grandmaster Nan Lu in New York while studying and graduating as a shiatsu therapist from Ohashi Institute of Shiatsu in New York in 1997. She has been a shiatsu therapist and teacher since then and is currently teaching qigong in Johannesburg. Wendy is also a trained dance teacher, and she incorporates elements of dance into qigong classes.
