Give someone a chance to live a new life!
The Rotary Club of Chennai, Kodambakkam proudly presents Chennai Premier 'Cyclothon' on the 24th February 2019.
The main aim of this event is to raise money for Dialysis. Dialysis is the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood in people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally. This process is also referred to as renal replacement therapy.
A recent study shows that the number of people in India suffering from kidney failure and other kidney related diseases has doubled in the last 15 years. The number of patients undergoing dialysis in India is also increasing by 10-15 percent every year, which majorly includes children as well. Not much importance is given to kidney disorders as it is still an under-the-radar condition, which means oftentimes kidney diseases go by undetected and uncured.
Through Chennai Premier 'Cyclothon', the Rotary Club of Chennai- Kodambakkam sector will raise awareness and funds for dialysis and will help many people get a second chance at life!
