The Chili cookoff has been rescheduled for Sunday March 1st at 5 p.m. All men are invited to sign up for an evening of delicious chili judging and fellowship.

The Official Rules for the NMCC Men’s Chili Cookoff
What Counts as Chili
If you call it chili, it’s chili. Beans, pasta, white chili, chicken chili—yes, all are welcome.
Prep It Yourself
All chili must be prepared ahead of time. No one else may handle your ingredients, utensils, or heat source. Coaching is allowed—but coaches must be thanked (along with God) in your acceptance speech if you win.
Label the Meat & the Heat
Any meat other than ground beef or turkey must be listed on the name card.
Chilis that are spicy should also be clearly labeled as such.
Allergy Awareness
If your chili contains common allergens, please note them in the title.
Bring Your Own Gear
Contestants must provide their own crock pot, serving utensils, and any recipe-specific condiments or garnishes.
Bring Enough to Share
Please use a 4-quart or larger crock pot whenever possible—the goal is fun and feeding people.
On-Time Delivery
Drop off chili in the NMCC Auditorium by 5:00 PM Sunday. Judging begins at 5:30 PM.
Anonymous Entries
Chilis will be numbered to keep judging fair. No need to stand by your entry—let your chili do the talking.
Judging & Prizes
Voting is done with spare change or dollar bills. Proceeds support scholarships and the Men’s Retreat.
Judging focuses on flavor, consistency, spice balance, aroma, color, and aftertaste.
Prizes awarded for Best Overall, Best Spicy, and Most Original.
Take It Home
Please take your crock pot and utensils with you—we love your chili, not your cookware.
