Join us for an exciting, haunted investigation at the historic Madison Seminary, located in Madison, Ohio, near the Lake Erie coast. The doors opened in 1847 as an institute of higher education, the Madison Seminary boasts a rich and diverse history.
In 1891, the Madison Seminary was purchased by the Ohio Women’s Relief Corps and transformed into the Madison Home, a sanctuary for Civil War Army nurses and the wives, mothers, and sisters of soldiers. The Home's notable residents included Elizabeth Stiles, a Civil War spy recruited by Abraham Lincoln. Her daring espionage efforts and remarkable survival story add to the Seminary's rich tapestry of history.
Throughout the 20th century, the Madison Home served various purposes, from a refuge for the needy widows and mothers of Ohio veterans to housing for mentally disabled women and psychiatric patients. Its diverse usage has contributed to the building's haunted reputation, with numerous accounts of paranormal activities reported over the years.
Guests have reported disembodied voices and full on conversations from those who are unseen. Full bodied apparitions and shadow figures are quite common and it's not unusual to hear the slamming of doors down the darkened hallways.
