Learn to Cycle Smart is a hands-on youth education program that builds safe, confident, and respectful riders for Wisconsin’s shared-use trails and community paths. Designed for school-age participants, the program combines trail etiquette instruction, practical bike safety checks, and a guided “practice terrain” ride to help youth develop the knowledge and habits needed to ride responsibly in parks, neighborhoods, and on multi-use trails. Participants must know how to bike and be able to ride 3 miles. A snack will be provided.
Participants will learn to
Perform an ABC safety check of their bike
Adjust their bike to proper fit
Articulate trail etiquette, including passing on a trail and hand signals
Practice riding on multiple trail terrains including road
Age: 10 - 14 years old
Cost: $30 per person
What to Bring:
Water bottle that fits their bike holder
Helmet (encouraged to bring own)*
Bike (encouraged to bring own)
*Helmets are required to be worn during the program.
