# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Recipe Swap & Share
- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 26 May, 2026 at 06:00 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: LML is starting a new series featuring various recipes, cooking styles, and skills.

This month we are celebrating National Barbeque Month and National Hamburger Month by preparing a food item from Rodney Scott’s World of BBQ: Every Day is a Good Day: A Cookbook by Lolis Eric Elie and Rodney Scott. You may choose to prepare a different item that would go along with the barbeque theme if you are unable to cook an item from the book. All recipes must be brought along to the program to share with the other attendees so that they too can enjoy cooking the recipe at home.

Please follow all food safety procedures when preparing your dish. We ask that recipes include all ingredients that were used due to potential food allergies and dietary needs. Attendees should also mention if they made any alterations to the recipe. Please note that alcohol is not permitted in the library.

Registration required. Register in person at the library starting on Tuesday, April 7th. The deadline to register is Thursday, May 21st. A copy of Rodney Scott’s World of BBQ will be at the circulation desk so participants may sign up for a recipe of their choice and staff will make a copy of the recipe for the participant to use at home. You will need to note which item you are creating at the time of registration. There will be no duplicate dishes. On the night of the program, participants will bring in their dish to share so that everyone has an opportunity to taste the dish and then discuss what they thought of the dish versus their impression of the recipe and description.

Please bring a serving utensil. We recommend bringing to-go containers for any possible leftovers from the program.

Beverages, cups, paper plates, eating utensils, and napkins will be provided.

There will be a short discussion about the food featured in the book. We will also discuss what worked or didn’t work with the recipe. We hope this program will inspire participants to try a new recipe at home for family and friends.

Based on patron feedback, the series will continue monthly and feature various themed recipes. If there is interest in future programs, we will include cooking demonstrations and collaborative cooking at the library.

This program will be held in the library’s multipurpose room.

Seating is limited. Please contact the library at programming@lowermaclib.org if you are unable to attend.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Lower Macungie Library.
