September 20th also marks what would have been Alan and Tosha’s 30th wedding anniversary — making this evening an especially meaningful celebration of the life, love, music, friendship, laughter, and memories they shared together. This will be anything but an ordinary Celebration of Life. Expect an evening filled with legendary Southern music, live performances, stories, laughter, a few surprises, and plenty of Alan’s signature personality. Roger Walden will serve as co-host and emcee, bringing Alan’s unmistakable sense of humor to life with some of his favorite Alan impersonations. We’ll also share a special comedy reel featuring some of the funniest and most unforgettable moments from Alan’s life over the past 30 years. Chris Hicks will serve as our co-host and musical director for the evening. A longtime friend and someone Alan loved like a son, Chris will help bring together the musical performances throughout the night, leading The Loose Change Band and joining other artists and musicians onstage for what promises to be an unforgettable Southern music celebration. We’ll have a special Alan Walden Signature Cocktail, live music, memorabilia, and an event merchandise table featuring special items created to commemorate A Life Well Played. A SPECIAL FEATURE: SOUTHERN MAN Alan’s memoir, Southern Man, will be featured at the merchandise table, along with a selection of special Alan Walden memorabilia and event merchandise. For those who would like to take a piece of Alan’s story home with them, copies of Southern Man will be available throughout the evening. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC — FREE OF CHARGE. There is absolutely no admission fee. We simply hope you’ll come, celebrate Alan with us, enjoy the music, and be part of a night we believe he would have loved. For those who feel compelled to make a contribution in Alan’s memory, in his honor, or simply because you are grateful to be part of such a meaningful evening, donations to the Alan Walden Memorial Fund will be gratefully accepted.
