- **Event Name**: History at Home - Some Tea and Loaf Sugar: Tea and Society at Michilimackinac
- **Event Start and End Date**: Thu, 26 Feb, 2026 at 12:00 am
- **Event Description**: By the 1770s tea was the beverage of choice in most British households at Michilimackinac.
The popularity of tea and other natural resources (furs, silk, spices) helped shape Britain’s global empire in even remote areas like Michilimackinac, and this hot drink played a key role in the development of the British economy and social hierarchy during the era of the American Revolution.

Join Devan McNabb, lead civilian interpreter at Colonial Michilimackinac, for a discussion of what we can learn about 18th century British society by brewing a simple cup of tea.
