Sul 14fed Rhagfyr/Sun 14th December, 6pm - Wil Tan: Y Crwydryn
Cerddoriaeth fuw gan Truckstop Honeymoon o 8yp!!
LIVE SET from the absolutely wonderful Truckstop Honeymoon for a one off performance!
Mae Wil Tân, athronydd cyndyn canu gwlad Cymru, yn cychwyn ar bererindod ar draws tirweddau "gwledig" cudd Cymru — Amlwch, Rhoshirwaun, Borth, Dinorwig — llefydd lle'r oedd capeli unwaith yn sefyll wrth wraidd cymunedau, bellach wedi cael eu disodli gan dafarndai lle mae caneuon am gariad, colled a thorcalon yn dal i ffynnu.
Wedi'i ysgogi gan salwch ei wraig Ceri, ei lais sy'n pylu, a chysgod marwolaeth ei ffrind gorau Pete, mae Wil yn chwilio am gyd-gerddorion ac eneidiau hoff cytûn. Mae eu sgyrsiau’n datblygu fel penillion o ganu gwlad: heneiddio, anweledigrwydd, dibyniaeth, a'r llawenydd bregus o ddod o hyd i gariad yn hwyr mewn bywyd.
Wedi'i ffilmio yn ysbryd sgrin lydan ffilmiau’r Gorllewin, mae'r ffordd yn dod yn lwyfan ac yn gyffes, lle mae cerddoriaeth yn disodli geiriau na all dynion eu dweud. Wedi’i hangori gan ddwy gytgan hiraethus — Carrickfergus gyda Pete, a Crwydryn i'w fam - mae'r ffilm yn fyfyrdod ar wrywdod, tawelwch, a'r ffyrdd mae canu’n dod yn darian ac yn ildiad.

Wil Tân, the reluctant philosopher of Welsh country music, embarks on a pilgrimage across the hidden “country” landscapes of Wales — Amlwch, Rhoshirwaun, Borth, Dinorwig — places where chapels once stood at the heart of communities, now replaced by pubs where songs of love, loss, and heartbreak still thrive.
Prompted by his wife Ceri’s illness, his fading voice, and the looming shadow of his best friend Pete’s mortality, Wil seeks out fellow musicians and kindred spirits. Their conversations unfold like verses of a country song: aging, invisibility, addiction, and the fragile joy of finding love late in life.
Filmed in the widescreen spirit of a Western, the road becomes both stage and confessional, where music replaces words men cannot say. Anchored by two haunting refrains — Carrickfergus with Pete, and Crwydryn for his mother — the film is a meditation on masculinity, silence, and the ways song becomes both shield and surrender.
