You should be dancing! Come join Machias ACT for this weekend dance workshop and leave knowing a version of an iconic dance. This months dance- Thriller! Wear comfortable moveable clothes and bring your best moves as we groove our way to Machias ACT movement showcase!

Students will learn an abridged choreography of Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller” and perform it for their pick-up person at the end of the workshop!

- Intro to pop/jazz dance
- Basic warm up; physical and imagination
- Watch original choreography
- Learn altered version
- Students will choose a zombie character they want to embody for the dance
- Rehearse in “character”
- Perform for pick-up person

About the instructor:

Olivia Fiore-Carpenter has a degree in Youth Drama from the University of NH. Out of school she worked as the theatre education intern for Lexington Children's Theatre where she  used arts integration in classrooms across Kentucky. She has toured and taught with Merry-Go-Round youth theatre through upstate NY as an actor and teaching artist and was a teaching artist for Broadway Bound Kids in NYC. She's spent two years at sea entertaining and engaging audience of all ages on various cruiselines. Olivia provides energy, enthusiasm and empathy to her work making everyone feel comfortable coming out of their shell and expressing themselves through theatre.
