- **Event Description**: It’s hard to believe—it’s already been a full year since the Machias Arts & Education Center opened its doors. In that time, we’ve watched this space grow into a true creative home for our community: a place where artists share their work, neighbors gather, students learn, and new ideas take shape every day.

To celebrate this milestone, we’re hosting a special First Friday Art Night on June 5 from 4–7 PM, and we’d love for you to be part of it. The evening will feature a vibrant mix of local artists and artisans, each bringing their own style, craft, and creativity to the Center. You’ll find everything from fine art to handmade goods, all created right here in Downeast Maine.

We’ll also have a dedicated kids craft area, where children—and grownups, too—can sit down, get creative, and make something special of their own to take home. It’s a fun, hands‑on way for families to be part of the celebration.

Throughout the event, guests can enjoy food and drinks, along with a special musical performance by members of the cast of Machias ACT’s upcoming production of Tick, Tick… Boom! Their live set will bring an extra spark of energy to the evening.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Center during our first year—your enthusiasm, participation, and creativity are what make this place thrive. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and look ahead to everything the next year will bring.
