We are pleased to announce that we have set a date for the 3rd annual "Building a Better Baker" Community Resource Fair. We encounter all sorts of situations with county residents that could be changed or avoided, by having open access to or education regarding county resources. Our vision is to create a safe, collaborative, informative, and FREE space to share information and resources with our local county residents. “Building a Better Baker” Community Resource Fair, will be a county wide event sponsored by The Baker County Community Development Department. This would be at no cost to the county. Admission, as well as vendor registration, would be free. County officials, county departments, community partners, local businesses and other vendors who currently provide services to Baker County residents will be in attendance. Community partners could include (but not be limited to):
• Elected Officials
• Local County Government Departments
• Summer Programs / Library Programs / 4H Programs
• Local Contractors, Electricians, Plumbers, etc.
• Nursing Homes / Funeral Homes
• Free/Low Cost Spay & Neuter Programs
• Animal Control Pet Adoptions
• Insurance & Healthcare Vendors
• Health Department & Ed Fraser Hospital
• Local Businesses and Non-Profits
• Veteran’s Services / Council On Aging
• Blood Mobile with free health screenings
• SHIP Housing / Three Rivers Estate Planning
• Red Cross
• County Advisory Boards and Committees
• Touch A Truck area
• Food Trucks and Many More!
This event will take place at the Fair Grounds on March 7th. All vendors will be set up inside, except for the Blood Mobile and Food Trucks. (Meals from Food Trucks would be available for purchase and would be the only thing that is not free of charge). We truly believe that our county benefits from this sort of collaborative event, and with free admission, free door prize raffles, and endless information, we should have a great turnout!
