                "description": "The Maastricht University Choir boasts a long musical tradition. The choir was founded in 1977 and consists of approximately 70 to 90 members, including a diverse group of students, non students and academics from all age cohorts.\n\nEach semester the choir sings a new repertoire determined by a common theme which is completed with a large concert. We perform a diverse repertoire in several languages and different music styles, from classical to contemporary, folkloric to modern music and everything in between.\n\nSince 1992 the choir has been under the direction of Wim Vluggen. He studied school music, choir direction and Gregorian music at the Maastricht school of arts. His main goals are to optimize the choir's sound, to increase the motivation of the singers, to interpret a musical piece and to perform previously unknown repertoire.\n\nBesides rehearsals we also like to sing on choir weekend trips like sailing and biking adventures or in the shopping mall on a Saturday afternoon. No matter where we sing, we always have fun!"
