Jazz Masterclass​ with Sun-Mi Hong

Conservatorium Maastricht is excited to welcome innovative drummer and composer Sun-Mi Hong for a masterclass with our Jazz Department. Known for her distinctive voice on the drums and her forward-thinking approach to jazz, Sun-Mi Hong is one of today’s most compelling artists on the European scene.

Born in South Korea and now based in Amsterdam, Sun-Mi Hong leads an international quintet and creates music rooted in both South Korean and European traditions—while constantly exploring new territory. Her latest album, Fourth Page: Meaning of a Nest (Edition Records), showcases her unique blend of complex structures, deep emotion, and fearless improvisation.

An inspiring opportunity for drummers and jazz students alike to engage with one of the most innovative voices in contemporary jazz. 🎶✨
