Ein Dutzend virtuose SolistInnen bilden einen vielfarbig schillernden gemeinsamen Klangkörper. Santur, Oud, Nay und Darbuka im kreativen Dialog mit Bigband-Bläsersätzen, Gitarre, Bass, Violine und Schlagzeug, erweitert durch arabischen und türkischen Gesang.

Das „Transorient Orchestra“ lässt die Melodien und Rhythmen des Orients mit westlicher Harmonik und jazziger Improvisation zu vielfältigen und spannenden Verbindungen verschmelzen. Orient und Okzident in einzigartiger musikalischer Synthese - intellektuell begeisternd und emotional berührend.

Seit 2003 bereichert das Transorient Orchestra unter der Leitung von Andreas Heuser die Musikszene im Ruhrgebiet und weit darüber hinaus. Das Transorient Orchestra ist WDR Jazzpreis Gewinner 2017 in der Kategorie Musikkulturen.
