- **Event Description**: Want to boost your flexibility? Why not join this beginners’ Hatha yoga class and discover gentle stretches and a welcoming yoga community?

Yoga increases flexibility by using mindful stretches (asanas) that lengthen muscles, tendons and connective tissue (fascia), combined with deep breathing to relax the nervous system, allowing for deeper, safer range of motion, improving joint lubrication, and building body awareness for sustained, full-body suppleness.

During this class, we will be looking at poses that target the hips, hamstrings and spine to build your flexibility and enhance your muscle and joint mobility.

Our peak pose will be Pigeon Pose, or Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, a powerful seated pose designed to deeply open the hips, stretch the hip flexors, glutes and groin, and reduce lower back tension. It involves bringing one knee forward behind the same-side wrist, extending the back leg long, and squaring the hips, ideal for increasing flexibility or stretching out for a post-run recovery.

All classes are for beginners and take place at Crescent Yoga Studio at St Anne’s Tennis Club FY8 2QH. The yoga studio is fully equipped so you don’t need to bring anything with you, unless you prefer to use your own mat and blanket etc. 

- Tuesday evening 1.5-hour classes cost £10.
- Thursday evening 1-hour classes cost £8.
- Saturday morning regular yoga 1.5-hour classes cost £10.
- Special Event Saturday morning and Sunday evening classes cost £25.
