(you may wish to bring/buy calico or cheap fabric for samples or toile)

Course content:
This course is specifically designed to take your dressmaking skills to a more confident & professional level. During the 3 weeks you can opt to either build a folder of samples with self written instructions- this can become your sewing reference guide (or sewing bible) for future sewing projects & can be built upon for months/years to come. Work on a 'toile' (practice garment) or make a finished garment.

Throughout the course we will cover; laying out pattern pieces, grainline, bias of fabric, pattern markings, transferring pattern markings & notches, seams finishes, button stands, collars, yokes, sleeve plackets, setting in sleeves, hems & button holes/poppers

Week One:

Measuring & sizings
Cross referencing finished garment measurements
Selecting a size
Adding/shortening pattern pieces
Grading between sizes
laying out pattern pieces, grainline, bias of fabric, pattern markings, transferring pattern markings & notches,
Patch pockets
Week Two:

Button Stand
Attaching a yoke- the burrito method
Stand collar
Week Three: 

Setting in sleeves
Sleeve plackets & pleats
Button holes
Who is this suitable for: Over 16's- Confident beginner- This workshop requires you to have existing dressmaking knowledge.

The timings of this workshop should enable you to leave with a finished product but each person will work at a different pace so please be aware you may have tasks to complete at home to finish your garment.
