At 12:00, Thulla Christina Wamberg Kronaie will do a performance, playing magical music on the theremin—the world’s first electronic instrument, invented by the Russian radio engineer and cellist Leon Theremin in 1919. The instrument is played without being touched—the sound comes from the musician’s hands controlling the electromagnetic field created between the instrument’s two antennas.


About Thulla
Thulla Christina Wamberg Krónaie has created 10 albums and has previously worked primarily as a jazz singer, songwriter, and performer.
In the early 00s, she heard about the theremin for the first time and it felt like an instant recognition. In 2012, she bought a small Moog theremin, but it was not until 2022, when she got her Claravox theremin, that she really started playing and mastering the instrument. Thulla regularly plays small concerts, and in 2024 she released the theremin album MUSICA AETHERIA.


About the exhibition
DISTILLATION (through) NUX is a solo exhibition featuring a selection of Kirstine Roepstorff’s latest paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. Evoking the alchemic relationship between fire and water, the artworks encourage an intuitive understanding of our current time as an amalgamation of things rather than a series of random occurrences. Through deep indigo blues, recurring moons and sparkles from fluorescent paints or brass surfaces, Roepstorff refers to night time as a period of maturation. In the sense that nothing comes out of nowhere, she explores the night as space for that which has gathered to distill and mature, inviting viewers to rekindle their own relationship with elemental darkness.
