	Once again it is time for the Gene McDonough Memorial Golf Tournament which is the beginning of our annual memorial weekend.  This tournament has been full for several years and we anticipate it to be full once again.  For this reason we strongly encourage participants who wish to enter a team to do so as soon as possible.
	
The tournament will be held at the beautiful St. Johnsbury Country Club in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.  This 18 hole course offers varying degrees of difficulty set naturally into a landscape of woods, and rolling hills while providing enjoyable and challenging play for golfers of every skill level.
	
This exciting golf tournament will raise funds for the Scholarship created after the loss of Brother Eugene P. McDonough who lost his life fighting a multiple alarm warehouse fire on Church Street in Lyndonville September 5th 1998.  Currently the scholarship is supported by this tournament as well as generous donations, which are invested directly into the fund for annual scholarship awards to deserving students who have successfully completed their first year of college and are enrolled in a second year for the study of public safety.
	
I hope you will consider being a part of this extraordinary event.  It is a lot of fun, and is an enjoyable way to help support area Vermont students, Littleton New Hampshire students, and Manchester-By-The-Sea Massachusetts students, and remember the sacrifice our Brother Gene made.
